What to pack for AlUla in September
Loose, light long sleeves and trousers, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, high-factor sunscreen and a refillable bottle (drink 3+ litres a day). Cover shoulders and knees at heritage sites (see our dress code guide) and wear closed shoes for rocky ground.
A 3-day AlUla itinerary built for September
Day 1 - National Day or a quiet Old Town evening
If travelling around 23 September, check event road closures; otherwise begin with the Oasis and Old Town after the heat falls.
Day 2 - early Hegra
Use a morning slot, then rest until Elephant Rock. September afternoons still demand summer pacing.
Day 3 - Dadan or Maraya, not both
Choose one morning focus and leave room for weather, since the full winter programme has not restarted.
