Weekends (Friday–Saturday), Winter at Tantora (17 December 2026 – 9 January 2027), Founding Day (22 February) and the Eid holidays push demand up a level.

How Hegra tickets work

Visits are by guided tour, which leaves from the Hegra Visitor Centre by bus. Tours run daily, in the morning and afternoon.
In summer 2025 Experience AlUla also offered self-guided time slots (10:00 and 16:00, 10 May–30 June). Check whether they are running for your dates.
Visitor Centre hours: Sunday–Monday 06:30–18:00, Tuesday–Saturday 06:30–20:30.
Arrive 30 minutes before your slot. The centre is about 25 minutes’ drive north of AlUla Old Town.

Questions travellers ask

How far in advance should I book Hegra?

4–8 weeks ahead for December and January, 2–4 weeks for November and February–March, 1–2 weeks in October and April, and a few days in summer. Add more time for weekends and holidays.

Can you visit Hegra without a tour?

Usually not. Hegra is visited on guided tours from the visitor centre. Self-guided time slots have been offered in some summers.

Does this tool show live availability?

No. It estimates demand from season, weekends and events. Check the booking page for live slots.
