Photo rejected, payment failed, or an application stuck on pending? Almost every eVisa problem is one of a handful of known issues — here is the fix for each.

The fix for each problem
Photo rejected
The single most common failure. The portal wants a recent, passport-style photo: plain light background, face square to camera, even lighting with no shadows, no glasses, and nothing covering the head unless worn for religious reasons (face fully visible). Re-shoot against a white wall in daylight rather than editing an old photo, save as a small JPG, and upload that. Phone selfies against patterned walls are the usual culprit.
Payment failed or page errors at checkout
Usually the card, not the visa. Use a Visa or Mastercard with international online payments enabled, tell your bank first if it blocks foreign transactions, and try a different browser with ad-blockers off. The fee is SAR 535 (≈ $143) (checked September 2026); a “cheaper” price anywhere means you are on a lookalike site.
Application stuck on pending
Under 72 hours is normal — wait. Over 72 hours: check your spam folder, then check status on the official portal with your application number. If it has been more than a week, contact support through the portal rather than reapplying immediately; a duplicate application can complicate the first.
Application rejected
The SAR 535 (≈ $143) fee is not refunded. Rejections are almost always a fixable data problem: a name that does not match the passport exactly, a passport with under six months’ validity from arrival, or a photo issue. Correct the exact cause and submit a fresh application — most second attempts with clean data are approved quickly.
Flying soon and still no visa
If you hold a UK, US or Schengen visa or residence, you may qualify for a visa on arrival — but only if that visa has been used at least once and you fly on an eligible airline. Treat it as a fallback, not a plan, and confirm eligibility before you travel.
Avoid the problems entirely

- Copy your name exactly as printed in your passport, including middle names.
- Check your passport has six months left from your arrival date.
- Apply at least a week ahead. Most visas arrive in minutes; the ones that do not are the ones you are reading this page for.
